Two alternative program are offered as follows :
Plan 1.1 Total equivalent of 48 thesis credits

Applicants are required to have a master’s degree in Arts or Design. If the applicant has a master’s degree in another field, the applicant ought to possess a distinguished portfolio of Art or Design work but final consideration is at the discretion of the Program Administrative Committee;
or
-
Have a nationally or internationally recognized portfolio of design work; or at least 20 years experience in design or in a related field. Admission is subject to the Program Administrative Committee.
Program structure
The Doctor of Philosophy Program in Design Arts of Silpakorn University offers two plans:
Plan 1.1 : total equivalent of 48 credits
Thesis (equivalent to) 48 credits
Required courses (non-credit) 12* credits
Total equivalent 48 credits
* Compulsory but credits are not included.
Plan 1.2 Total equivalent of 72 thesis credits

Applicants are required to have a bachelor’s degree in Art or Design or in a related field granted with honors or with a GPA higher than 3.20; and
-
Have a nationally or internationally recognized portfolio of design work; or
-
Have at least nine years’ experience in Design or related field. Admission is subject to the Program Administrative Committee.
